I want to build my wardrobe with lasting pieces. Pieces that can be worn over and over that are timeless and practical but still show off my personality. I wanted a wrap dress I could wear at any time without putting much thought into it, heels or flats, bloated or just having a normal day.
The fabric placement for me is always a big thing and I wanted to make sure i keep the centered parts of the fabric or pattern centered and the pretty border on the fabric as close to the fabric original.
Fabric choice. As you know, I like eclectic pieces, African print, bright colors. This one was supposed to be subdued and quite honestly I hated the dress when I was done. I put it on though and started sashaying. I felt myself lift my chin up and sashay around the house. At that moment I knew she was a keeper.
Would I make it again? Absolutely, because it wasn’t complicated and it’s very flattering. It’s not for those that don’t like low necklines. I will have to get a cami or two to double as a modesty panel when I wear it and keep that neckline higher than it is right now.
Let me know what you think of the dress and until next time…
I love you garments
